How we make money

Nobody pays to use Vennado, and today Vennado earns nothing: every link to a seller is an ordinary link. When a link is paid, it will be labelled "Paid link" where it appears. We never add a fee.

How the commission works

When your group picks an idea, Vennado links out to somewhere you can book it: a ticket seller, a restaurant, a golf club, a hotel or a travel company. The plan is for some of those links to be affiliate links. If you follow one and book, the seller pays Vennado a share of the sale, in the way a comparison site is paid.

You book with the seller, on the seller's site, at the seller's price. Vennado never takes your payment and is not part of the booking.

Where things stand today

Vennado is new and the affiliate arrangements are still being set up. Until they are, the links you see are plain links to a seller's public site or to a search, and they earn us nothing. A link is not a sign of any commercial arrangement with that company, and it is not a recommendation of one seller over another.

When an arrangement does go live, each link it covers will be labelled "Paid link" where it appears, and this page will be updated.

What commission does not change

  • What we charge you. Nothing. We never add a fee, and you pay the seller on the seller's own site.
  • The order of ideas. Ideas are ranked by how well they fit your time, your group size and your budget a head. Commission is not part of the ranking.
  • The guide prices. These are our own estimates for a typical UK city. Sellers do not set them. Ideas by type and budget explains what they cover.
  • What we collect. No advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. Clicks on outbound links are counted in aggregate, by seller and category only, with no personal data. The privacy notice has the full account.

None are sold today. If we ever accept payment to show a venue or an offer more prominently, it will carry a label saying so, in the place where you see it. A paid placement will never be presented as one of the ordinary suggestions.

How this fits the rules on advertising

If a link is there for commercial reasons, the reader should be able to tell. That is the principle behind the UK rules.

The Advertising Standards Authority's advice on affiliate marketing says affiliate content must be obviously identifiable as advertising. Where only some links on a site are affiliate links, those are the ones to identify. It also says a statement tucked away on an "about" or FAQ page is not enough by itself, and that vague wording about commission is unlikely to be acceptable if the links themselves are not marked.

The Competition and Markets Authority's guidance on unfair commercial practices makes the same point from the legal side. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, failing to identify the commercial intent behind a practice, unless it is already apparent from the context, can be a misleading omission.

So this page is the explanation, not the disclosure. The disclosure belongs next to the link, which is where it will be. The footer of every page says whether any links are paid.

If we get it wrong

If you spot a link that looks paid for and is not labelled, or a price that differs from the seller's own, tell us at contact@sycamorehealthworks.com. If you run a venue and want to know what working with us would involve, the page for venues, clubs and travel companies sets it out.

Questions people ask

Does booking through a link on Vennado cost me more?

Vennado never adds a fee. You pay the seller, on the seller's own site, at whatever the seller charges. Today every link is an ordinary link that earns us nothing. When a link is paid it will be labelled 'Paid link' where it appears, and the commission will be paid by the seller. If you ever find a price that is higher because you came through Vennado, tell us.

Do you show the ideas that pay you most first?

No. The order comes from how well each idea fits your free window, your group size and your budget a head. Whether a link earns commission plays no part. If we ever sell a featured placement, it will be labelled as one where it appears.

Which links earn Vennado a commission at the moment?

None. Today every outbound link is an ordinary link to the seller's site or to a search, and earns us nothing. As arrangements go live, each link that earns commission will be labelled 'Paid link' where it appears and this page will say so.

Does Vennado use advertising cookies?

No. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. Vennado uses your browser's local storage to remember the plans you have opened and who you are in each one. It counts clicks on outbound links in aggregate, by seller and by category of idea, with no personal data attached.

What does a seller learn about me when I follow a link?

Once you are on a seller's site, the seller's own privacy terms apply. If an affiliate programme is active for that link, the seller may record that your visit came from Vennado, which is how the commission is worked out. The link itself may carry what a search needs, such as the town, the date and the size of the group, and nothing about who you are. We count the click in aggregate, with no personal data.
